College Park, MD [9/28/2023] - The Maryland Athletics Department announces a strategic partnership with Advance NIL (ADVANCE), an industry leader in Name, Image, Likeness Education, Consulting and Athlete Development.  As the Terps enter year three of NIL, this partnership will amplify Maryland’s Momentum NIL program and seeks to equip all stakeholders involved, including student-athletes, coaches, staff and beyond. 

“We are very excited to be partnering with ADVANCE to expand our resources within the Momentum NIL program," said Grayson Wagner, Director of NIL Services. "ADVANCE and their team bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the space and will play a key role in educating Maryland student-athletes. ADVANCE’s involvement will help us continue to prepare student-athletes for success during their college athletic experience and, more importantly, their lives beyond sports.” 

ADVANCE will visit the Terps on multiple occasions during the 2023-24 academic year, as well as provide on-demand learning modules through their NIL Academy (Powered by Game Plan).  The priority will be to provide real-world, practical education that equips student-athletes on how to effectively navigate, market and protect themselves in NIL. As a result, financial management, taxes and contracts will be major points of emphasis.  This education is critical not only for NIL, but for building foundational life skills.
